Description: The Masters course was extended in 1997 from a 9-hole course, with a new nine designed by Peter Alliss. The front nine has recently undergone some major renovation and remodelling, and combines hedgerows and undulating fairways with large greens and water features.
The 16th hole on the Masters Course is perhaps Cotgrave’s signature hole, a 136 yard par 3 over water to a wide but shallow green, with an approach that rolls back to the water. The substantial lake in this area of the course is sensitively managed to enhance both aquatic and bird life, and is also the home of the 11th tee, which is on a peninsula in the middle of the lake.
